Firstly, it does what a regular metronome does. Secondly, it even enhances your experience by providing you the current measure number, and beat position in a measure in a very clear way.
We know what is needed when you're on the stage. With the extremely simplified interface, you can never touch a wrong button. In fact, in most of the time there is not even a button on the screen.
Time is very important, as lots of comtemporary music works are based on it. So, in addition to counting beats, the teamCuetm Player also keeps track of how long the music has been played, and how much time is left (based on settings).
It feels really good when you're on the stage and you can see everyone is ready.
Notice the little dots at the bottom of the screens? They are status indicators for other peers in the music. White dots indicate they're online and synced; green dots indicate they're ready to begin; while air-corn dots indicate peers that are not online yet (bad news dude!!).
In order to make sure everyone start on the right spot, the teamCuetm Player provides two count-in measures to get everyone prepared.
The teamCuetm Player is built on Web 2.0 technology. So, all you need is a web browser2. Visit the designated web address3 and you're all set.
Designed with user experience in mind, the teamCuetm Player is optimized for both worlds. As you can tell the interface on iPhone is very easy to operate with fingers, while the desktop version takes much less space.
Prior to the performance, someone create a new group through teamCuetm Central4, and set up the music (tempo, time signature, title, and who's gonna be in the group, etc).
All performers launch the teamCuetm Player3, enter the name of the group that was created for the music. Now, everyone is synced and ready to go!
